Band Members

Dan Resecker:  Guitar and lead vocals

Dan Resecker, a founding member of Bluegrass 409 has been playing music for over 30 years.  Dan has been influenced heavily by Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Dr Ralph Stanley, and Wayne Lewis just to name a few.  While Dan has played many genres of music, his heart has always been with Bluegrass.  Dan is married to Laura Resecker, who also sings lead and backup for Bluegrass 409.  When they aren’t playing and singing music together, they are spending time with one of their 8 grand kids!

Kirk Etheridge:  Bass, Lead and backup vocals

Since Kirk was 17 years old he has been playing in some sort of band, mostly Rock.  Introduced to Bluegrass by his older brother within the last 7 or 8 years, Bluegrass 409 is Kirks first leap into the Bluegrass genre as a musician.  His solid bass and high vocals keep the band tied together nicely.  Kirk also has a great knowledge of music in general, and offers a great deal to the overall sound of the band.

Laura Resecker:  Lead and backup vocals

Bluegrass 409’s newest member, Laura Resecker, also known as “LaLa” comes to us straight off the heels of The Stone Cutters, an adult contemporary/Easy listening band.  Married to Dan Resecker since 1997, Laura has been performing and singing since the early 80’s.  Her influences include The Whites, Allison Krause, Doyle Lawson, and of course Bluegrass 409!

Scott Thigpen:  Banjo and backup vocals

Scott’s musical career began a bit later in life.  After a short amount of time taking piano lessons at age ten, it was about another 20 years before Scott played an instrument.  Buying his first banjo at age 29, it sat in the closet for  the first year until 2003 when he started digging in and learning the instrument.  When asked to join Bluegrass 409 in 2006, he hesitantly accepted, and has come a long way in the last 6 years.  Scott is married to a wonderful woman since 1997 who supports the bands efforts.  Many evenings are spent at Scott and Faith’s home playing music and singing.

Dave Eller:  Manager

Dave comes to us by way of Scott Thigpen, as Scott is married to his daughter.  Dave has a love for Bluegrass and old country that is beyond compare.  He managed a country band “Blazing Country”  with much success for 12 years.  Dave has been happily married for 40 years, and loves meeting and talking with the many wonderful people that he meets at all of the Bluegrass festivals and shows the band attends.  When Dave is not working with the band he is spending time with his 3 beautiful grandchildren.
